Dear Brywood Community,
Welcome to Brywood Elementary School!
Brywood Elementary, situated directly adjacent to Brywood Park, is a PK-6 traditional calendar school within the Irvine Unified School District. Brywood opened in 1988 and was modernized in 2019 after Measure E was passed by Irvine voters to ensure all students, not just those in newer neighborhoods, have access to modern learning environments and technology to support IUSD’s high academic standards and to prepare students for 21st-century college and career.
As a school, our mission is to enable every student to reach their highest potential by establishing a curriculum that meets or exceeds government standards for education; providing extracurricular programs that develop childrens’ mental, physical, and social skills; and, partnering with parents and the community to create an environment geared to the success of all students.
The Brywood staff, parents, and the surrounding community share a common vision. High-quality classroom instruction, students who are highly motivated to learn, a warm and nurturing learning environment, and a supportive and encouraging parent community make Brywood a wonderful place to be. As a cohesive team, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality educational experience we can envision for our students.
As the proud principal of Brywood Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our community. I hope that you will take an active role in this dynamic learning environment, whether that be as a PTA leader, school volunteer, or informed parent, your involvement is encouraged and appreciated. The partnership of our parent community and school is essential as we move forward in supporting student learning, achievement, and social growth. I look forward to our work together!
In Partnership,
Michael Hernandez
Principal, Brywood Elementary
